All apples & oranges…

Some time ago I gave a lecture in the Matlab course at the ICN. The slides of that can be found here. It is just a very basic introduction into multivariate pattern analysis (MVPA) for neuroimaging using the example of a classifier that has to divide a basket of fruit into apples and oranges. It also gives some sample Matlab code how to implement these procedures without too much hassle. It ends with a brief discussion of the typical design decisions one needs to make for an MVPA experiment and what kind of information can be gained from its results. A small number of people seem to have found these slides and examples useful so I provide them here. However, if you use the code or reuse the slides I would appreciate it to be acknowledged. Feel free to contact me if you have any comments or questions although – as always – I don’t promise to be of any help.
